Defibrillators in all Patrol Vehicles?

Should all police patrol vehicles have defibrillators?  The jury in a recent Coroner’s inquest into an in-custody death in which police were involved has recommended that the devices be mandatory in Ontario and called on the OACP and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services to study the issue.

The OACP has been in contact with the MCSCS and will consider surveying all Ontario police services on how many frontline police vehicles already have these devices in order to get a sense of what would be involved, including potential costs.
