Ontario’s Constable Selection System is a partnership between the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services (MCSCS) and the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP). The CSS has been developed to assist police services to attract the very best candidates to meet the changing needs of the communities we serve. That’s why OACP Executive Director, Jeff McGuire, Director of Government Relations and Communications, Joe Couto, and members of the OACP Executive met with officials from the MCSCS on July 31 to discuss ways to make the system more responsive to the needs of police services and to individuals considering a career in law enforcement.
Both the MCSCS and the OACP are committed to improving the system. An update from OACP President to Chiefs of Police/OPP Commissioner is being prepared to fully update police leaders on next steps on this important issue. Stay tuned for more developments as we work together!
