The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS) are proud to announce the theme for this year’s Police Week which takes place May 12 to 18, 2019: “Proudly Supporting Our Police”. The theme promotes the policing profession.
As part of Police Week 2019, the OACP and MCSCS will use social media to showcase the impactful work of different policing teams/units across the province. Through an All Chiefs issued on April 2, 2019, all police services are invited to complete a template (“Call for Submissions”) and forward it to Jwan.Aziz@ontario.ca by April 29, 2019, along with a photo that the Ministry has permission to use on social media. The Ministry will use the information and photos provided to feature on Twitter (@ONsafety) throughout Police Week.
Police services are encouraged to use the hashtag #PoliceWeekON to promote local events and activities during Police Week, and to highlight both officers and civilians and the important work they do. Police services can find supporting materials on the OACP website. More materials will be added in advance of Police Week.
