- The Next Generation-911 Interagency Advisory Panel (NG-911 IAP), a group made up of representatives from the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs (OAFC), Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs (OAPC), and Ontario Association of Police Services Boards (OAPSB), has made recommendations to Ontario’s Solicitor General on the implementation of NG-911. NG-911 IAP provides expert analysis, advice, and recommendations to the Government of Ontario on issues concerning the implementation and funding for the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) mandated Next Generation-911 (NG-911) services, and to ensure that the needs of all emergency service providers in Ontario are met with respect to NG-911. - The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS) has reached out to the OACP regarding the update of the provincial legislation governing freedom of information. MGCS is responsible for the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) and the Archives and Recordkeeping Act (ARA).
